In this workshop you will make two fused projects: the first a fused and slumped plate using strips of sheet glass; the second a fused and textured bas relief or low relief panel.
In the first project you will learn how to cut sheet into strips and how to use frit, powders and stringers to make your design; how to lay up your glass with small glass joins ready for firing, and how to slump your plate.
In the second project you will learn how to cut a design from ceramic fibre paper to carve texture into your glass; which types of glass work better for kilncarving and how to fuse a bas relief in to your glass. Both projects will discuss the fusing and slumping cycles required for the different projects.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience and is limited to six people. The price stated is per person and the course fee covers all materials, use of equipment, kiln firing time and the delivery of your last project if you are unable to make the monday.
